Merry Christmas from the Carrolls
John, Ashleigh, JAC, Charis, Abigail, & Jones all want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas!
Lisa Thomas of KiraLisa Photography gifted our family with family photo session to celebrate our recent adoption of Abigail.
See many of those images here at the Fall Family Photo page.
Why the “?” Marks?
Last year Ashleigh & I announced we were going to adopt again by sending out a very similar Christmas card with the then five Carrolls and one question marked silhouette.
This year we sent out a card with the six of us and two question marks hoping to grab some attention.
The back of the card is below:
We are not announcing another addition to our family this year, but we hope to raise awareness for adoption and encourage our friends to pursue orphans by adopting, becoming foster parents, or even creating a very intentional mentoring relationship.
Adoption
Praise God for adoption because there is no way the Carroll Family would have ever been complete without it.
Jones was adopted in November of 2008. He is a local Memphis boy and we were paired with his birth mother while she was still pregnant with Jonesy. We worked with the local Bethany office. Our initial visit with Bethany was September 10th, 2008 and Jones was born 74 days later.
Abigail is from rural Western Ethiopia and was adopted in June of 2010. We were paired with her in February of 2010 after we turned in our application just the month before in January. Those five months of waiting for paperwork to process between our two countries so we could bring her home seemed to take for ever and fly by. (Some of you know what I mean.) Our adoption agency was Celebrate Children out of Florida. They may be the hardest working crew I have ever worked with.
